Help for the Homeless 2010 Drive
Thank you for participating in Help for the Homeless!
Help for the Homeless, which occurred concurrently in 5 communities in our listening area, brought in exactly $200,080 worth of toiletries and cleaning items for 43 area shelters and crisis programs this year.
With more than 200 collection box locations in the Fox Cities this year, our grand total for Fox Cities donations is a whopping $123,000! (2009 was $84,000)
Your assistance in the picking up and sorting those donations was absolutely crucial to the success of the campaign. It all held together thanks to YOU!
FYI, just to get some perspective on how truly successful the event was this year; here are some previous year's totals:
- 2010 total value of donations $200,080 (we count all items, then plug them into a worksheet listing average current prices)
- 2009 was $143,000
- 2008 was $73,000
- 2007 was $22,000
We hope you'll join us for Help for the Homeless again next year. 2011 collection dates are March 6 - April 10.

Note: The best sites are those that have large numbers of people who see the box on a regular basis and finally (if they're like me) after a few weeks of walking past the collection box, actually remember to bring something to work to place in it.
